In 1980, when it was called the Manifest Lipcowy Coal Mine, the Jastrzębie Agreements were signed (a part of the August Agreements). When the miners' strikes broke out during martial law, clashes with the militia occurred, and 11 miners were injured. In 2018, 250 people were trapped underground due to a collapse. The rescue operation lasted 11 days.
