In the beginning, it was owned by Guido Henckel von Donnersmarck, a Silesian coal magnate. It was established in 1873 and was called Deutschland Coal Mine (until 1922) and Niemcy Coal Mine (until 1937). It was closed in 1996. Today, you can visit the renovated shaft tower there.

An estimated 1,400 girls are not born every year in Armenia due to a rooted preference for male children.
