Rozbark Coal Mine

Silesia

It was established in 1870 and worked under the names Rossberg Coal Mine and Heinitz Coal Mine. The original owner of the fields was Hugo I Henckel von Donnersmarck, and in 1890 the mine was taken over by the Giesche company. After the war, during 1945–1949, a labour camp was organised in the mine. Mining was completed in 2004, and in 2007 the Rozbark Coal Mine's original complex of buildings was enlisted into the Register of Immovable Properties of the Silesian Voivodeship. In 2014, the ROZBARK Dance and Movement Theater were opened there.

29.37 kilometers – at the time of writing this report, separating Kramatorsk, the temporary capital of the Donetsk Oblast, from the front line. One third of the 220,000 inhabitants remained. In the deserted city you can see mostly soldiers. They head to the front or return from it to rest for a while. The fate of Kramatorsk and eastern Ukraine depends on the outcome of fierce fighting. Military trucks and heavy equipment rush to nearby Bakhmut every day.
