The first drilling was completed in 1860, and in addition to hard coal seams, brines were also discovered, which were later used for brine baths in the spa in Goczałkowice. In the years 2005-2010, it was connected with the Brzeszcze Coal Mine. In 2010 it was bought by the Czech Energetický, a průmyslový holding.
