San Miguel de Allende

A city in Guanajuato, Mexico. It is located 294 kilometres from Mexico City. In 2008 it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List due to the Sanctuary of Atotonilco and a well-preserved system of fortifications. It is also on the list of so-called ‘Magical towns’ in Mexico and it is one of the most popular places visited by tourists. There are 70.000 inhabitants there, 10% of them are foreigners.

A Chilean-Spanish couple head kidnappers ring

39-year-old Isabel Gomez Mazarro de Santiago was arrested by Spanish police in , where she was hiding from justice. She and her husband Raul Julio Escobar Poblete, of Chilean origin, were accused of kidnapping people in Mexico. It appeared during the investigation that the man is also one of the most wanted criminals in Chile.
