National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU)

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine was formed on April 16, 2015. Artem Sytnyk was put in charge of this institution after being elected in a competition. This institution fights corruption and is independent from other Ukrainian authorities. The founding of NABU was one of the conditions for cooperation and assistance between Ukraine and the EU, the US and the International Monetary Fund. NABU has already brought 97 cases before the court, 149 people have been charged with crimes, 461 cases are being tried, and all investigations are worth 87.2 billion hryvnia (over 3.2 billion USD).
