illegal visits to Crimea

After the annexation of Crimea by Russia in March 2014, Ukrainians established a special order for foreigners to enter the Peninsula. Foreigners can get there only from Ukraine having previously obtained the relevant permit in the State Migration Service of Ukraine. The arrival on the Peninsula from Russia is treated by the Ukrainian authorities as illegal and it may be connected with a latter ban on entering Ukraine. The rules apply to all foreigners including politicians and journalists. Since 2014, this ban has been broken not only by Russian citizens, but also by some parliamentarian from EU countries fault for pro-Russian sympathies.
