“Human Nature” exhibition

"Human Nature," Istanbul Modern’s first exhibition at its temporary space in Beyoğlu, on display from May 23 through November 11, features works by the sculptor Tony Cragg from each of his artistic periods. The Turner Prize-winning Cragg, one of the most innovative artists in contemporary sculpture, was present at the opening and the preceding press conference. Curated by Istanbul Modern Director General Levent Çalıkoğlu, “Human Nature” integrates Cragg’s experiments in sculpture into a comprehensive and chronological whole, the museum explained in a press release. Presented in the exhibition are samples from his "Early Forms" and "Rational Beings" series, in which he experimented with a variety of materials and techniques over the years. The exhibition was made possible with the contributions of the British Consulate General in Istanbul and the British Council. (This information was taken from the Istanbul Modern's official website.)
