Haidar al-Abadi

Abadi came to power in the summer of 2014, a few weeks after the ISIS took control of almost one-third of the country. He replaced Nouri al-Maliki, who after 8 years in office was dismissed because of a total failure in the fight against the jihadists. Thanks to the international coalition with the United States and Iran, Abadi was able announce the victory over the jihadis. He was accepted by the United States and Iran who have the greatest influence in Iraq.
