Arming the Kurds
In 2014, during the Presidency of Barack Obama, the White House decided to support the Kurdish militias and the military bases created by the Syrian Democratic Forces. The Americans have been providing provide weapons, equipment, vehicles as well as the support for the SDF activities, mainly from the air. Since then, the coalition has dropped about 30,000 bombs on Syria. There are about 2,000 American soldiers and personnel on the ground, including special forces or artillerymen. Currently, the SDF is the only partner of the United States in Syria.
