Kharkiv Pact

An agreement signed by the Ukrainian President Victor Yanukovych and the President of Russia Federation Dmitry Medvedev on the extension of staying of the Black Sea fleet of Russia in Ukraine for another 25 years. In return, the Ukrainian side received a discount on the gas bought in Russia. The contract, signed on April 21, 2010, was terminated by Russia after taking over Crimea on March 31, 2014. According to Andriy Parubiy, this was the actual beginning of preparations for Russian aggression to Ukraine.
