False user accounts

The Washington Post writes that profiles in social networks should present common people from all over Ukraine who have been disappointed by Maidan. In the evening of February 22, 2014, an account of a man named Ivan Galicyn was created. He described the events in Kiev as "the return of the fascists 70 years after the Second World War". Later Galicyn commented on various materials printed in the English-language press. According to the newspaper, his account was created by GRU. GRU used a photo of Konstantin Jaroshenko, who was imprisoned in the US for drug trafficking, to create Galicyn’s account.
