A Soviet truck-mounted 122 mm multiple rocket launcher developed in the early 1960s. Various modifications of this system are still used by the armies of many countries, including Poland.
The launcher fires up to forty 122 millimetres shells at a time with a range of up to 20 km.
BM - 21 Grad was used by both sides of the conflict during the fierce phase of the Donbass war between 2014 and 2015. The number of cases of its use decreased when the agreement on the withdrawal of heavy weapons from the front line was signed in autumn 2015.
