Women have been guaranteed 25% of the seats in the Iraqi parliament

Women have been guaranteed 25% of the seats in the Iraqi parliament since 2003. That is, since the Saddam Hussein was ousted as a result of the American invasion. In theory, they can gain more seats, but never managed to get enough votes. Women usually receive low-key positions on the lists of candidates.
