The cooperation between US and the Kurds

The White House decided to support Kurdish militias and the Syrian Democratic Forces (which are based on militias) during the presidency of Barack Obama in 2014. The Americans send weapons, equipment and vehicles to Syria and support SDF activities using mainly air strikes. Since 2014, the coalition has dropped about 30,000 bombs. There are about two thousand American soldiers and personnel in Syria, mainly special forces and artillery. When the Americans supported the Kurds, fighters with the PKK markings disappeared from Northern Syria.
