Arturo Guzmán Decena

He was raised in a poor family in Puebla and joined the military as a teenager. Thanks to his talent and determination, he ended up in a special unit responsible for tracking down drug traffickers and fighting them. After five years of service, he left the army as a lieutenant and started protecting the criminal group called El Golfo. After the arrest of leader of the gang, Juan Garcia Abre, Cardenas Guillén became the new ringleader. He entrusted Guzmán with the task of creating a gang that would give him safety and eliminate the enemies - mainly the members of the Juarez cartel. Until 1990, 40 soldiers from various battalions fled the Mexican army to join Guzman, who became the leader of the Los Zetas group. He has been hiding under a “Z-1” pseudonym ever since. Guzmán was killed in the clashes with the army in Matamoros in the state of Tamaulipas in November 2002. https://content.outride.rs/en/los-zetas-cartel-is-losing-its-domain/
