Al-Kaida is slowly reviving

Different fractions of Al-Qaida are scattered across Asia and Africa. For example, a coalition of fundamentalist military groups called Tahrir al-Sham is still active in Syria. One of its parts is connected with Al-Qaida. It controls north-eastern part of Idlib Province. In addition, the group is trying to expand its influence among the local population and other militias. It is believed that Hamza bin Laden is the new leader of Al-Qaida. He regularly calls for US assassinations and the revenge for killing his father Osama. However, his impact and position in the organization is not fully clarified yet.
