A long path
Taiwanese gay rights activist Chi Chia-wei is an icon of the struggle for the rights of LGBTQ people in Taiwan. He was the first person in the island to come out on national television and the first time he advocated for recognition of same-sex unions was in 1986. He tried many times in the last three decades.
