Joanna Turek

Cultural anthropologist, coordinator, project manager. As a producer at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw in the last three years, she has carried out over a dozen exhibitions and external projects of the Museum.

Co-founder of the Public Space Research Foundation. As part of its activities, she implemented a 2-year program of residencies for artists and researchers in Warsaw and Berlin, bringing together over a dozen cultural and non-governmental organisations, creating a platform for cooperation between two neighbouring capitals. She has worked with partners such as the Goethe Institut, the Foundation for Polish-German Cooperation and the Berlin Senate Chancellery. In previous years, she coordinated various visual art, new media and cultural education projects in Poland and abroad. She is an initiator and coordinator of a series of debates and workshops on urban space and urban planning of contemporary cities at the Institute for Public Space Research in Warsaw. A graduate of the University of Warsaw and the Graduate School for Social Research.

The European Union, associated with the policy of open borders, is currently surrounded by over 2,000 kilometers of border fences.
